As of 25 January 2021, the government of Newfoundland and Labrador's Education Re-entry Plan for the 2020-21 school year remains in effect. Elementary and secondary schools for children aged 4-18 are open with rules intended to limit transmission of covid-19. A news report about the delayed start to the school day due to heavy snow on 22 January shows that schools remain open. Most classes at Memorial University in St. John's, the capital and largest city, continue online as a precautionary measure decided by the university administration.
