Pat and I travelled to Prince George on the British Columbia Railway for Kevin's wedding. It was cool and pleasant when we left North Van on the BCR. But, the air conditioning failed on the economy class Bud car, somewhere after Pemberton, just as we left the coast and entered the Interior. The BC interior is hot. But, there was hope. A car repairman got on the car at the station stop in Lytton, armed with a 9/16 wrench and a screwdriver. He opend the A/C cabinet, looked in, and declared "I can't fix this". We lost hope. We baked. We boiled. We suffered. We travelled with the windows and doors opened. There are lots of grades on the trip, and lots of Diesel smoke from the lead car as it pulls up those grades. After Williams Lake, the train crew took pity on us, and moved us up to the first class car.
But, the scenery is pretty. These are a few shots of the Cheakamus River Canyon, Seton and Anderson Lakes, and the Fraser, in no particular order.
